This is a Jewish calendar with designs I created with October 07 in mind. I wanted to create something that would serve as a collection of hope and unity for the Jewish community. There has been so much anguish and tragedy over the past couple years since the attack and I wanted to do something with my art to uplift people and honor the victims.
I designed the calendar layout in the style of Medieval Illuminated Ashkenazic Hebrew Manuscripts specifically designed to keep the lunar cycle aligned with the solar year through complex calculations. The winding, snake-like design was used in these illuminations.
